FHSA BOOK FUND BACKGROUND

The Family History Society of Arizona (FHSA) first started the Donation and Gift Fund in 1987 in memory of Brian Lionel Killoran and has continued this policy to purchase materials for the Arizona State Library, Genealogy Collection.  Brian Killoran was the founder of FHSA, founder of many of our chapters, and the society’s second president.  The Book Fund Committee is made up of a chairman and one representative from each chapter.  The committee meets once or twice a year to select the books.  The books are selected on a rotational basis.  There has been over $10,000 donated by FHSA members to this fund. The next time you are in the Arizona State Library, Genealogy Collection, look for the books with the blue dot on the spine.  Those are the books that FHSA donated.
